Apple Intelligence (Siri): Optimizing Local On-Device Context and App Indexing

Apple Intelligence and Siri operate under a fundamentally different visibility model than browser-based AI assistants: much of what Siri surfaces comes from on-device context, Apple Maps business listings, App Store metadata, and Apple's own indexing of structured web data, rather than a general crawl of your website. A business with rich web content but an unclaimed or thin Apple Business Connect listing, missing App Store presence, or absent structured location and hours data effectively does not exist to Siri, even if it ranks well elsewhere. Because Siri queries are frequently local and voice-based — "find a plumber near me open now" — the structured facts that matter most are hours, service area, category, and real-time availability signals, all of which must be machine-readable and consistent across Apple's own properties. Correcting and enriching this data is deliberate, technical work done once, not an ongoing monitoring exercise, and it determines whether your business is the one Siri reads aloud to a customer standing in front of a decision.

Questions

Answered.

Does Siri crawl our website like Google does?+

No. Siri relies far more heavily on Apple Business Connect, Apple Maps data, and structured local signals than on a general web crawl, so a technically excellent website with an unclaimed Apple listing will still be invisible to most Siri local queries.

Why does Siri give wrong hours or an outdated address for our business?+

Siri pulls location data from Apple Maps and Apple Business Connect, which are separate systems from your website and Google Business Profile. If those listings were never claimed or updated, Siri surfaces stale defaults instead of current information.

Can structured data on our website still help with Siri visibility?+

Yes, in combination with Apple's own listings — schema.org LocalBusiness markup reinforces consistency, but it supplements rather than replaces a claimed, accurate Apple Business Connect profile as the primary Siri data source.
