General contractors and owners increasingly run AI tools to pre-screen subcontractor bid lists against RFP requirements, checking bonding capacity, EMR safety ratings, trade licenses, and union or prevailing-wage compliance in seconds rather than days. If a sourcing platform's subcontractor profiles present that data as scanned PDFs or images inside a portal, the scanner cannot verify it and quietly drops the firm from consideration, regardless of how qualified they are. GEO addresses this by structuring bonding limits, license numbers, EMR scores, and certification expirations as JSON-LD tied directly to each subcontractor entity, and by publishing an llms.txt briefing that states, in plain terms, which trade categories and project sizes the platform's network is qualified for. A knowledge-graph entity then connects each credential to its issuing body, so an AI assistant comparing bidders can confirm legitimacy without a phone call, which is exactly the moment a shortlist gets decided.

Only if the figure is presented as structured, dated data linked to the bonding company or surety, not as a static number in prose. Structured markup lets the scanner cross-reference the claim against the issuing entity referenced in the knowledge graph.
Crawlers cannot authenticate, so anything gated is invisible to the model entirely. Credential summaries, license status, and safety ratings need a public-facing structured layer even if full project history stays behind login.
As often as the credential itself changes. A stale expiration date in structured data is worse than no data, because the model will state it as current fact and the firm can be excluded from a bid the moment that date is checked against reality.
